Stretching along the northeastern corner of Galicia, the Costa da Morte has a particularly varied landscape; rugged rocks, white sandy beaches and traditional towns. For many, it is the perfect spot for water sports but don't be put off by its name (translated as Coast of Death) as this is said to have be assigned do to the significant number of shipwrecks which have occured along its shores due to it being directly exposed to the Atlantic Ocean making its waters that much more dangerous, now however surfers use this to their advantage.
The coast is bordered by a number of traditional Galician towns including; Monte Louro, Carnota, Cee, Corcubición, Fisterra, Muxía, Camariña, Laxe, Malpica and Caión, which are also quite popular among tourists due to their quaint charm and picturesque backdrop. This coast is also home to a grand wealth of beaches perfect for any visitor be they water sport enthusiasts or avid sunbathers.
